Olvidados is a Non Government Organization (NGO) whose mission is to end malnutrition and help needy families.

Every month, they distribute over 50 tonnes of food across five centres within Madrid. They feed about 2000 needy families. It is also working harder on helping poorer children. Kitchens were opened to feed school children (3 to 12 years old) to receive a balanced meal.

For many, this is the only daily meal they will get. They organize appeals to firms, supermarkets, schools etc Their “Donate 1 kilo” of staple good is thriving and they have volunteers to help collect all the contributions.

The center we are helping has a warehouse where the donated food is kept and a place where they distribute the food to 275 families every Thursday from noon to 6:00 pm.

IWCA has started this year helping this NGO and their organization is just amazing. Each family has been visited and registered in their records. They pack the non perishable items like milk, rice, lentils, tins etc one day before. They have different amounts of food according to the number of people in the family. Each Thursday, the packed bag and fresh fruit, veggies etc are given in proportion of the size of the family.

We personally have gone to experience the joy of packing and giving joy to the needy. They urgently need help for babies as baby milk, diapers are not usually donated.

IWCA has been contributing by giving 275 kilos of lentils every 3 months.
