Colores de Calcutta

Fundación Colores de Calcuta is a Spanish NGO conducting a Cooperation for Development Programme since 2006 in collaboration with the Indian NGO Seva Sangh Samiti.


Located in Pilkhana, one of the largest slums in Kolkata (India), its aim is to improve the lives of the people in these community, both children and adults, focusing on Health and Education attending over 25,000 people every year.

IWCA started collaborating with Fundación Colores de Calcuta in 2014 supporting its Medical Centre providing the equipment required to start-up a Dental Clinic. In 2015 the reforms carried out in the Kindergarden were financed.


And since 2016 IWCA is supporting the work this foundation is doing on promoting gender equality in its centre for girls and women, called Anand Bhavan (Home of Joy), giving girls and women the opportunity of education and employment as the main tool to develop themselves, to overcome poverty and improve their living conditions.
